The Stormwater Retention Guidelines focus on meeting planning requirements that apply to new development and redevelopment.

​

Sydney Water also applies an ongoing annual stormwater charge for existing residential properties.

 

A reduced charge, the Low Impact Stormwater Charge, is applicable for properties that retain a substantial proportion of MARV on their properties.

 

Properties that have been developed following the principles and requirements of the Stormwater Retention Guidelines are likely to be eligible to apply for this reduced charge once it is constructed.
